Microsoft Money $$$

July 25, 2010

It’s been more than a year that I did not used anymore this Microsoft Money Software. And now I am back using this personal finance software.

Microsoft Money was Microsoft’s personal finance software. It was designed for computers using the Microsoft Windows operating system, though versions for Windows Mobile were also available (available for Money 2000-2006 on select versions of Windows Mobile, up to, but not including, Windows Mobile 5.0).

I’ve been using Microsoft Money since its 1998 version and it was college years.  At first, I was guided through its video tutorial on how to use it. And surprisingly it provided my basic personal finance assistant. It guided me most of my years on how to managed my finances, budgets, forecasts cash flows, and helps plan for future needs.

It was time consuming that you need to input and enter your expenses in Microsoft Money software and remember all what you spent and received so that it will reflect your actual cash vs in the Microsoft Money. It must be synchronized so that you will not be surprise that you missing out some bills to pay and be counted in your budget plan.

I stopped from couple of days, then weeks, then months and gone up to 1-2 years not using Microsoft Money because of time constraints.  And got bad financial management and struggling to survive. As Gates said “We are not perfect. Phones are not perfect too”,

But even though I stopped using Microsoft Money, I still carrying and applying the knowledge on personal financial management since college years until my professional career.

Now I am back using it to track again where I am now when it comes to money matters.

Microsoft Money Plus is the last version of year 2008. They stopped releasing because of banking and consumer different needs.

With banks, brokerage firms and Web sites now providing a range of options for managing personal finances, the consumer need for Microsoft Money Plus has changed. After suspending annual updates of Money Plus in 2008, Microsoft ended sales of Money Plus on June 30, 2009.

But anyway, you should try this personal finance software. This will help and guide you.

At last firemen have put out a big forest fire in California. Since then, they have been trying to find out how the fire began. Forest fires are often caused by broken glass or by cigarette ends which people carelessly throw away. Yesterday the firemen examined the ground carefully, but were not able to find any broken glass. They were also quite sure that a cigarette end did not start the fire. This morning, however, a firemen accidentally discovered the cause. He noticed the remains of a snake which was wound round the electric wires of a 16,000-volt power line. In this way, he was able to solve the mystery. The explanation was simple but very unusual. A bird had snatched up the snake from the ground and then dropped it on to the wires. The snake then wound itself round the wires. When it did so, it sent sparks down to the ground and these immediately started a fire.
